Who make more money nurses, radiology tech or ultra sound tech?
Which one are in more demand, anyone in the medical field please answer this questions. I am not sure what field to go into. I am leaning towards nursing but not sure. And if anyone knows how much do nurses make right out of school? I planning to get an AAS. I also wanted to know is there a pay difference in getting your AAS or BSN?

radiology tech
Also doctor of radiology is the highest paid doctor.
in health care the amount of money you make is pretty much directly impacted by how much school you have under your belt… so you can figure it out from there. there is demand throughout healthcare, but especially in elder care. consider also what you would ENJOY doing long term, even if you make a little less, there are a lot of low job satisfaction from people who didn’t know what they were getting into, go do some information interviews with people doing the jobs you’re considering.
Nurses. make 45,000 out of school. Get your BSN because there are more oppurtunities for advancement
radiology is more in demand but there are so many people trying to become something in the medical field that it’s becoming harder to find a job. it also depends on what type of nurse. if you become and opperation nurse assistant you earn more than any other nurse.
i work for a medical registry (we place medical staff in hospitals) in Oregon and our Radiation Therapists make $65 per hour; Specialty Nurses (L&D, ER, ICU, etc) make $48 – $55 per hour; we don’t have any Ultra Sound Techs so i’m not sure how much they make. Hope this helps.
As new graduates registered nurses and radiology techs make about the same. However, RNs pay-packets tend to be more attractive because of bonus pays, loyalty pays. Experienced RNs tend to make more money than their Radiology Tech colleagues that have the same number of years of experience. Ultrasound techs(Diagnostic sonographers) usually make as much as Radiology techs.
As a RN you may start off with the lowest of salary/wage of the 3 careers, however, once you have 5 years or more experience, you will be making more money than the others.
Many hospitals around my area pay BSN-RNs about $1.00 more per hour than ASN-RNs. BSNs tend to transition into management a lot quicker than ASNs. I think part of the training that Associate’s NUrsing degrees miss are mainly Management, Research and TEam Leading/Building. I say go for BSN, if you are considering Nursing as a career.
nurses get paid pretty well i worked at a nursing home where one of the nurses was what they call agency nurse and he made 33 dollars an hour then on holidays he made almost 50 an hour and over time was just crazy. i don’t know what radiology techs make or ultrasound but they are not doctors and don’t require as much schooling. i don’t know what an AAS is but i know what an BSN is and it really doesn’t make one nurse better than another. i asked a nurse i worked with what it was once. good luck deciding what to do.
As a rad tech myself who has an AAS in Radiology I can say that new grad rad techs make anywhere from 20-25 dollars an hour starting in our area. U/S techs makes aroudn the same, or a little more I think actually. From what I know nurses are making near the same, but generally make more. I do know that currently nurses are in HIGH demand, whereas Rad techs are not. U/S techs are more so in demand though, than Rad techs. I live in MN
