It may depend upon the school in which one’s attending. A course for EKG (electrocardiogram) tech is perhaps the shortest though I’m not sure that there are too many classes for ekg by themselves. The “diagnostic medical sonographer” (used to be referred to as ‘ultrasound technician) usually needs an associate (two-year) degree from an accredited program within the industry. However, there are NOT supposed to be too many jobs for the sonographer or even radiologic technologist (used to be referred to as Xray technician) despite what those private overpriced for-profit tech schools proclaim. Incidentally, there are NOT supposed to be that many jobs for the medical assistant (or medical biller or coder) despite what those private expensive schools say.
Regarding of which course of study in which you focus, please forgo those private $$ for-profit tech schools such as penn foster, ashworth, sanford brown, anthem, pima institute and others as they are merely out to ‘make a profit’ (and course credits may NOT transfer to other schools). These consumer sites have negative posts by former students about those for-profit tech schools:

If you’re interested in any of the fields that you’d mentioned or for any other trade, please consider the more AFFORDABLE county vo-tech school or community college as long as the program is accredited within the industry.
