There is only one medical school in Arizona and that is the University of Arizona College of Medicine. If you’re looking to apply to this medical school, take a look to at their admission information and statistics before you do to help you better your chances of acceptance. Also, a quick tidbit, the University of Arizona College of Medicine is divided into two campuses, the main campus is in Tuscan but they also have one in Phoenix. They plan to expand that Phoenix campus which means they are increasing the amount of students they are going to accept into their medical program.

Admission Statistics for the University of Arizona College of Medicine Tuscan Campus (from 2011)

587 residential students and 1968 non-residential students applied. That’s 2,555 students that applied to University of Arizona College of Medicine Tuscan campus and only 469 residential students and 266 non-residential students, that’s 735, were invited to interviews. The University of Arizona College of Medicine Tuscan campus’ acceptance rate isn’t clear but the rate of which students are granted interviews are about 79.9% for residential students and about 13.5% for non-residential students.

Admission Statistics for the University of Arizona College of Medicine Phoenix Campus (from 2010)

The Phoenix campus is much smaller than the one in Tuscan so they enforce a strict enrollment policy of accepting only 50 students per year. This will change after the expansion of the campus. 590 residential students and 2,273 non-residential students, that’s 2,863 people that applied to the University of Arizona College of Medicine Phoenix campus. Of that amount, only 32 residential students and 16 non-residential students were accepted. This means that the University of Arizona’s Phoenix campus’ acceptance rate is about 1.7%.
