You’re only 28. Medical school takes on average 10-12 years, dentistry takes 8-10. After that, you still have your whole life to live.
Maybe you’ll find a husband if you become a dentist. Maybe you’ll find a husband if you become a doctor. There’s no way to predict these things and going back to school is generally a good way to meet people. However, there are no guarantees, and if in the end you don’t meet someone wouldn’t it make the most sense to have pursued the career you wanted to so that you’ll have that?
In my own opinion a career as a physician would be more fulfilling and you seem to be more interested in it, by all means go for it. Don’t rush into a career, you’ll have 30 years or so to do it, why not spend an extra 2 or 3 in school?
Don’t live your life trying to decide what the best way would be to get a husband, live your life by doing what you want and trying to accomplish what you think you’ll find the most fulfilling. Becoming a dentist is no more a guarantee of a family than becoming a doctor is, I promise you there are many single dentists and many single doctors.
Bottom line, decide what you think you will enjoy the most in the END. A doctor might take more work upfront but if in the end you think you will enjoy it more, go for it. That said, dental school is no picnic either.
Do what you think is right because it’s your life, but make sure you choose a career that you will enjoy in the end, not the one you think will land you a husband.
Best of luck, I hope everything works out
